I think it'll be safe as long as your school is in DLI readiness plan list. Best is to talk to your school immigration specialists.

Assume that you have agreed the time with your college and still have valid TRV/Study permit ?

It is still possible of course that the 14 day quarantine may still be required on your return, hopefully not, plus of course always a risk of new travel restrictions to enter/leave India.
