Is it required to get Visa for US visit as a Canadian PR

Dear all,
I want to know that Is there required to get Visa for US visit? I like to visit my sister's residence in USA. What I need to do for that?
Expecting comments from Qorax n other Seniors...

if you enter from canada ,then you dont need US visa...if u enter directly to USA then u need visa

A visit visa is a MUST if you are a permanent resident originally from a country other than the visa waiver countries:

no my dear,one with PR status has still to get visa to visit usa.my brother in law[pr status] had to get visa for USA from toronto to visit his cousin......

You surely need a visa to enter USA even though PR.
