Why are you after the name of the company. do you really think some dude in the forum will tell some other dude named "newtone" about the name of the company his friend is working for?. the apt name of that company would be XYZ for newtone ( both hypothetical names aren't they).. what are u going to do with the company name? go and probe them why would they give job to a new immigrant where canadians are unemployed?

As far as jobs are concerned there is no difference between hiring a canadian or landed immigrant. The question is how would we know the person is telling the truth? I could make up stories saying every single person i know that stepped on Canadian soil got a job within 1 month and everyone is making over 100k. Talk is cheap until its backed by facts and truth but people dont want to share the truth, they want to be adamant and shelfish. Besides even if they share the name of the company there is literally nothing anybody can do to stop them from hiring rather it would help other people seeking jobs

understand your curiosity and getting to the details of things which is about others life. but anyone with a slight common sense and in right mind would think twice before telling his new found job details to a guy with as good as anonymous in a forum.

ask yourself. out of how many of your close friends or ( fb friends ) tell you about their personal life and job and roles and companies they are working . very less. and so its really stupid to expect to get such details here in the forum.

and as i said anyone who is interested can PM him and ask . no need to publically make an issue in the thread..

i dont know what kind of friends you have but I know the work details of all my friends and why not, if I loose my job tomorrow rest assured I know through my friends where they work and who is hiring right away
I personally think its really dumb and stupid for people to make statements like I know many people who got jobs right after they stepped out of a plane. Its like saying in a forum I know the best hamburger joint in the city but I wont tell you where its located. Anyone sounds like an idiot making this statement, and you dont even have ti be intelligent to understand that. These kinds of statement are baseless stories in order to magnify and edify the job scenario in this country when in fact it isnt. The gives oeople a false sense of hope and their level of expectation increases. Once they are here and find out its not easy then they end up in a spiral of guilt and depression.

Absolutely i have no problems to share where I work but I am obviously not giving you details about my name, salary, age, medical information, who I slept with, how many kids I have. Only creeps ask for this kind of information on the internet. With respect to the context of immigration, I work for GE and frequently travel between US and Canada. GE is a good company and GE USA is always hiring. Thats all you need to know. Your turn.

talking about that guy. he must have just not seen your question about the company.. this forum is old styled, doesn't give notification ( no tapatalk integration etc etc..) and people come here more often to glean information than to share.. that guy must have put the comment and never opened the thread. so i am not even sure he read your comment on his reply. so chill.

I have no problems to believe that one single individual got a good job after landing - sometimes things happen mysteriously. He/she may have been recommended by existing manager from that company, he may have worked for the same company abroad, he may have had a romantic affair with recruiter etc. etc. but THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THE REALITY FOR THE VAST MAJORITY OF IMMIGRANTS - it is incredibly difficult to build career here with foreign credentials. I read in newspapers recently about this russian prostitute in Gulf who married one of emirs and is now among the richest women in the world - so what? Does it mean all prostitutes end up in golden castles in Abu Dhabi?
I am happy for the guy who got the job, but let us not treat exceptions as rules. Great expectations = great disappointments.

I read this some months ago and awaited to reply. I landed in Aug 2015 as an 11 yr exp in IT from a reputed bank from India. I got 2 offers within in a month both between 90-100K. I had to stop taking interviews and turn down further calls from brands like BMO and scotia bank to be able to choose one of the two. I also got a few calls from sad people who as job agents tried to brag about missing Canadian exp and tried to get me agree to 40-50k jobs while telling me - "hey you come back to us in a few months when you don't get anything as you are expecting too much". I got back to them and discussed my offers with them and told them that you guys as agents should have analysed my capability better then myself in the Canadian job market but you guys are probably useless at your job. I am not sure of other job areas but IT jobs are abundant in toronto for deserving and experienced people. Trust me, you lack capability if you are not getting something in IT as an experienced IT professional and possibly need to brush up you skills.
