No, you cannot apply for a new TRV from within Canada. You can only do this outside of Canada.
If you want to stay in Canada longer beyond the length of time CBSA gave you when you entered Canada (I assume this was six months), then you can apply for an extension to your visit from within Canada.
However applying for a new TRV is not possible in Canada. Only possible outside of Canada.

If you have gotten a work permit either open one or employer specofic work permit while you are on a visitor visa in canada, i think you can apply for new TRV in Canada if you plan to travel out of Canada and return back.
