Hi,

I am an MBA (UK) & CFA (US), and currently working as Financial analyst in India with 2 years experience. I am planning to apply for Canadian Skilled Worker visa and then search for jobs from India upon getting it. I would like to know if it is possible to get interview calls from Canada from India.

With the financial turmoil I'm in, I don't think visiting Canada to look out for jobs is a feasible option so I'm looking for alternatives. Any inputs are welcome.

Also, should I approach any immigration consultants to get my Visa or can I apply it by myself? How much of a pain is the whole visa documentation submission process going to be?

Thanks.

yes applying on your own is tedious work but its worth it......consultant will charge you a load and the only thing they do is tell you all the documents needed and than courier. with a little research you can do it on your own...remember one trick...which is to take one step at a time instead of the whole process overwhelming you. good luck

possible but very very low probability to get an interview call if you are not present in Canada

Thanks for the reply haral. Any information on getting interview calls from India?

Unless you have some very specific talent that is high in demand in Canada, don't expect to get any call from Canada.

I think it will be very challenging to obtain a financial analyst position from outside of Canada. Don't bother applying to any of the big Canadian banks. They won't consider your application.

Getting calls is not the concern here. You are still a long way off. You are yet to apply for your immigration. So we are like thinking about 2 years into the future. Things can change in that time. Take one step at a time. Apply for the PR first, then think about interview calls sitting in India.

And if you meant work visa and not PR then you need an employer to sponsor you, get an LMO, etc.

Generally they prefer Canada experience PR people.
