Thanks rezafc for your reply. Yes, I will have a valid work permit (the current one) and a TRV visa by the time I get back from my vacation, but the confusion I had was that it may be possible that they will have approved my new BOWP by the time I come back. In that case, wouldn't my current work permit be cancelled already due to the issuance of the new BOWP. At the airport I would have my current work permit with me and if the officer sees that it had been cancelled, can it cause any issues?
Please clarify someone.
Thanks!
So Let reduce the probability of getting confused by simply answer this question.
When are you planning to go for Vacation and for how long?
* Let's say if you apply a day before you leave you and coming back within 2 weeks your work permit still not get processed.
Another Scenario
* f you apply a day before you leave you and coming back before your VISA expiry date you can still enter by show the officer the
old work permit and the
fees payment Receipt and
BOWP application Number or email confirmation from CIC showing your Application Number. They want stop you to enter Canada for not having the latest work permit.
In past It happen with me as well, the difference is I was on Student VISA and I applied for OWP. waiting fro getting approved.
Before 3 days of my departure I got original copy of OWP.
When I was returning from home country I showed my Study Permit (My Study Permit was still valid for another 6 at that time). So I asked officer that if they need my OWP, and officer replied that they don't need to see as I have valid VISA and Valid Study Permit.
The officer did not even checked OWP.
To make it short... DON'T WORRY... YOU WILL BE FINE. Come back before your VISA and Old WP expire.
Don't forget to keep the high lighted proof with your self
