is it possible apply to skilled worker program when I waiting refugee hearing

I am waiting hearing almost 18 months and I don't know when.
Is it possible can I apply to skilled worker program when I am waiting hearing?

you can but I don't recommend it as it will show that you ONLY want to be in Canada for work and you don't want the protection of Canada. Contradicting yourself is the ticket to be deported from Canada.

there is a high probability of being refused in both once you go ahead with the application of skilled worker.

how did you get inside Canada? TRV? or just cross the borders? it's really long waiting time!

Almost 18 months here too. This waiting time is not rare anymore, it's just become standard. Based on my experience, I've applied for a work permit based on my spouse's permit and got a normal refugee one. I asked my lawyer and for what it looks like you will not be able to get any status until your hearing happens. Unless you're sponsored by somebody else.
