Is it okay to change positions with the same employer while you are waiting for PR through RNIP?

Hi,

I applied for PR through RNIP with my job title as a surveyor and currently my application is in process. My employer wants to give me another higher position as a geologist and i was wondering if I could change my position during the PR processing. Would it affect my PR in any manner? or do I have to wait until I get my PR card?
