Hey everyone, this is my first post in the forum. I am applying for my Wife's PR who is in India right now. While I was going through the Document Checklist (IMM 5533) for Spousal Sponsorship (Spouse Living outside Canada Category), I did not see any requirement to submit the Wedding Invitation card as supporting document. I have other supporting documents such as Photos, Receipts, Etc. So my question is, "Is it necessary to submit a Scanned Copy of Wedding Invitation card when applying for Spousal sponsorship (Spouse living outside Canada)"? And if yes, can E-Wedding card be considered as an acceptable document by IRCC?

It's not required but if you have room for it, why not. I did include mine in the application as it fitted within the limits.

The logic is that if we spend the time to make an wedding invitation card, it mean it's more genuine.

Hey, I Appreciate. Thank you for the response. I asked this question because we did not print an official wedding card for our wedding. It was a small wedding with just families and friends attending it. Instead of having a Physical card, we went for an E-Wedding card.

Not really required in my opinion. Evidence of the ceremony, celebration(s) with the families and your guests are far more important.

We included ours even though it was an electronic invite as well.

No, it is not necessary to submit a scanned copy of the wedding invitation card when applying for spousal sponsorship (Spouse living outside Canada). However, if you choose to submit it, an E-wedding card can be considered acceptable by IRCC as long as it is clear and includes all relevant details.
