Should TRV applicant disclose all his/her fund resources in the application? Or it is sufficient to report enough money to cover 1 year expenses?

For example, If during a TRV extension application for a student permit holder, the applicant reported only 20k CAD that is available in his account, while he/she is receiving annually more than that ( say 40k CAD) and has investment account as well. Could the IRCC consider this as misrepresentation? Or it is OK?

report all the money you have, dont mention only what you think you need.
when applying for a trv for the first time and later a trv extension, I mentioned all the money available in my bank statement + all the money available in my education savings account at the time. even though it was well more than what was needed.
