Is it necessary to renew my PR card if I’m not going to travel outside Canada until I get my US greencard?

I’m presently PR in Canada but due to get my US greencard by 2023.

My Canadian PR card expires in Nov 2022.

If I don’t travel outside Canada after my PR card expires, until I get my US greencard, do I need to renew the Canadian PR card?

I’m expecting the US greencard interview by end of the year, after which I should be able to cross the border and leave Canada forever.
