Is it mandatory to show PoF with arranged employement(LMIA done)

is it mandatory to show proof of funds even when I have LMIA approved job offer and working in Canada? My lawyer is insisting that I show 16kCAD for our PR application. We have only 14k CAD ready and I am very worried on this. Any pointers?

If you have an LMIA-approved job offer, you are exempt from the minimum funds requirement. You can put 0 in that field. This is very clearly explained on the CIC website.

Yes, PoF is exempted for Positive LMIA. But my friend with positive LMIA put 000 in PoF and has got some negative remarks in his GCMS notes.

Actually my friend who is FSW (O) with LMIA has received GCMS with following notes.

I also have lmia but my consultant asked me to deposit funds aswell.
He said its for positive impact and may be they could ask it in rare cases even with positive lmia if they have any doubts about your applications.
So i deposited it somehow..
