Is it late for me to start my application in May for CAQ and student's visa for Fall 2010 admission from Nigeria
Somebody please advise me

Hi DanyDavito,

Not late: You need to do the following (assuming you already have the acceptance letter from the university)
1) Apply for the CAQ which will take approximately 4 weeks (if the application is complete). You may add a week or so for postal delays.

2) After getting the CAQ, apply for the study permit at the CHC in Accra. The posted processing time for a study permit is 3 weeks (mailed application) and 1 day (in person at Accra CHC), but if you need to do a medical, it may take more 2-4 weeks.

You need to start the process now!!

Thank you Essat,
I hope there are no restrictions as per applying in Accra Ghana, when there is a visa office in Lagos Nigeria?
Secondarily, if there is no restriction, can I choose to apply in person at Accra CHC instead of using mailed application?
Thanks once again
David

Hi - Sorry, you will have to apply for the study permit at the Lagos visa office. The Accra office only handles PR applications for Nigerian residents. According to the CIC processing times, the Lagos office is much slower than the Accra office but you should still be able to get a study permit for fall if you have all the required documents at hand.
