Are you in Nepal now and getting welfare from the Nepalese government? If so, you can't sponsor anyway. A PR has to be in Canada to sponsor. Your welfare from the Nepalese government won't matter, but if you move to Canada and go on Canadian welfare, then you would not be able to sponsor. You'll have to go to Canada and get a job - any job. Then you can sponsor your husband right away.

You can still sponsor him you might have to go as far as showing dna proof that he is the father of your child , I suggest that you go back to canada and even hire a lawyer if possible, if you fall under the low income there are plenty of immigration services societies in canada that can help you with your case for a minimum charge compared to giving thousands to a lawyer.

Hi

I am sorry you are expiriencing a few set backs ...But unfortuatly it will be told to you that as a PR you have to be residing exculsivly in canada while the sponsorship application is being processed ...As it stands what ever social assistance you are on in Nepal doesnt hold no baring on canadian sponsorship BUT if you would like to start the application you will definatly have some obsticals in front of you ...

You need to move back to canada AND NOT COLLECT welfare soley find a job to support yourself and file for your husband that way and stay in canada the entire length of the application processing time ...

There really is no option outside of the ones that other and i have provided to you ...I wish you all the best and sure hope that you can find the means in the near future to fullfill these dreams you both have ..

Best of luck !!

hi thank you for all replies.

I am getting lowincome welfare from bc goverment for last 12 month. at the time I already got job(but my income was low despite i got $20,000/year on last T4)

I heard I can pay back to goverment or if I stop for welfare is it possible? to sponsor him??

I am going back to canada to find job and apply for PR card for my husdband. but I think still goverment is going to give me assistance automatically.hope I can take him home in canada as turist.

I love my husband and I will find a way to better feature for both of me and husband and baby.

thank you

why would you need to re pay the government..Only when you are the sponsorer and the sponsored person collects welfare within the first 3 years of there landing in canada as a PR would you need to re-pay the government .. ;D ;D

Do you have family in canada ?

Possibly could they help you become settled and secure so you can then sponsor your husband ..Without having to resort to welfare ???

Anyways basically the NO welfare system applys to you as the application is subitted for your husbands PR and until 3 years after he lands ...Its doesnt matter what WELFARE you have collected previously it matters that you are not on it from when you file for him ....I suggest getting off welfare finding your self a job and maintaining it until he lands and can also assist in income for the whole houshold it gunna be hard but you can do it ..

hi.thank you for reply.
I really messed up with my mind.

Yes I have family and I can stay with my mother's house with my husband(I already talked to her). and she can give me some support to get PR for my husband.

and I am not going to get welfare from goverment when I go back to Canada.

What I was thinking is that I used to get welfare from goverment for at least past 12 month and I thought goverment think that I am not eligible to sponsor my husband.

thank you.

Having received welfare in the past doesn't matter. When you send in the application you must not be on welfare.
It sounds like what you received is not considered welfare anyway - you made $20,000 a year, but got a supplement from the government, right? If so, that won't be considered welfare.
