Is it better to apply for Citizenship application individually or with family?

I've also never heard anything about family applications being processed faster than individual applications.

But I want to add that it's important to be clear about WHO things are better for when someone applies individually vs. with family. Sometimes it will be riskier for one applicant if they apply as an individual but far better for their children who otherwise wouldn't get citizenship for another year or two.

When one is part of a family, it seems to me that it's important to at least consider the benefits for every member of the family, not just focus on the harm that the family members can do to one's personal application, but also consider the benefit that that family member can do for their children's and spouse's application.

(n.b.- this isn't directed specifically at manty, just a general comment regarding collective applications and the importance of considering the collective benefit).

Thank you my friends for the advice.
Manty, if you apply separately one thing you will be asked is the reason why you applied separately. They can't deny it as it is a matter of privacy as everyone has the right to apply individually.

I had a few days more than my wife and kids so my reason was that "I finished the residence days earlier than my wife and kids."

My wife is a home maker too. She applied with kids and we had the health records and school records as a proof of her residency.

How did it go? We're both applications approved without problems?

Thanks

Thanks Felixo.
You raised a good point.
If they ask for reasonfor applying individually, then i only have one potential reason:
That spouse might be travelling out of country for a few months later this year.

Hello,

Is there a way to separate the application for Oath Ceremony after completing the test , since I had to travel abroad for a longer duration to take care of my father, while I got the test date for my self (that I intend to delay for self only) and my wife (who would give the test, I am intending to have her process her citizenship and do mine later. Thanks in advance for guidance.

Yes. You can contact IRCC and let them know that you'd like to postpone your oath ceremony alone.

Good luck!
