Hi everyone,

My initial IELTS score was 6.5 and my NOC is 5124 Communications Specialist (Skill Type A).
Is this score considered too low toward this position?

I took a second test after I mailed out my CEC application, and the test score is 7.0.
Should I mail this new score to CIC? I haven't got any File Number yet....

Any thoughts?

You can't say from the average. You can see the score table here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/urgentcec-refused-by-immigration-officers-mistake-t74264.0.html

If all your individual scores are 6 or higher, there is no problem. If one is lower, then you are still ok if you have another score that is on level 8 (see table).

Thanks Leon. I do meet the criteria for Type A:
R: 6.5
W:6.5
L: 6
S: 7

My only concern was if visa officer would evaluate this score against my job position (Communications Specialist).

Skill type A is skill type A. There are no other requirements for certain NOC's. The visa officer can not make up some new rules that aren't in the manual.
