Is IELTS for admission or for Visa purpose or for both?

Hi there,

I have seen few guys with 6 bands in IELTS got refusal whereas some got on same score. So I just worried a bit. Is IELTS score for admission in college or to justify our soundness in terms of bands to visa officer?

Please share your experience or valuable opinion.

its is for both. good score in IELTS enhances your admission chances as well as it is plus point towards ur academics while visa processing.

Visa officer looks at all participating factors that take part in making a final decision. If you score 8 in IELTS and you have weak academics with a lot of backlogs then things won't work out. Or if you have good academic standing and you don't have enough money even then you will face refusal.

The equation should be balance, you should meet all the requirements. IELTS alone can not do wonders for you. You should have atleast 6 IELTS for Visa but you would require a minimum of 6.5 in order to get admission in most universities.

niazi yaar i read your posts u got visa last year on lsbf ...so what happened why u r applying now? did u not go to canada???

It is not a mandatory formal exam or test . if your college waived the req of ielts, do not need to take it. BUt imagine if you got interview in ambassy, and u do not know how to express your self, Busted!!!!!

If u check their documents requirement, its a higly recommended paper, not mandatory!!!

Guys, Please be advised that you HAVE to include ur IELTS score while appying for VISA (If from India)...Anything with 6 band and above is set as a benchmark for language abilities...
