Is having lived overseas previously a problem?

My ex husband was British and as such I lived there for 4 years, came back to the States in the summer of 2010. I'm wondering if they'll look at my passport with my 2 UK visas in it and think this is just my pattern, to marry foreigners and immigrate? I'm hoping if they do think it looks weird that the fact that I LEGALLY moved to and stayed in the UK will count for something.

Don't worry about it - unless there was something fishy about the way you stayed in the UK, there is nothing to worry about.... you will need to get a Police Record for the UK as well as the US, and the Police checks need to reach CIC within 3 months of being issued, so once you start preparing your application you will have to time it well, but other than that, it should be all fine... I had to include 7 different police checks from 7 different countries and was approved.... as long as you can prove that your current relationship is genuine and you have all the proofs of that, you're good to go.
Good luck,
