Is Dualingo English Test accepted for Postgrad Study Permit?

Hello all,

I know that academic ielts is always accepted for a study permit by colleges. However, I heard that colleges now also accept dualingo tests due to covid.
However, I could not find any information about that on CIC. When I check colleges international students admission requirements, I see Dualingo on their website.

M question is;
Is dualingo accepted for study permit application ?
When I enroll into a college, does CIC also asks for language test results or only colleges want that ?

CIC does not accept any other test for Study permit besides IELTS (General or Academic).
English test is only required for certain streams e.g. SDS.
For regular stream applications, English proficiency test is not mandatory.

I am confused about the part where colleges accept dualingo but CIC does not. When enrolling into a college program, we must provide a language test result. After all that, college gives offer of conditional acceptance letter and then we apply to study permit from CIC with that letter and other documents. I forgot the part where if CIC asks for langauge tests results during regular study permit application or not.

I am planning for a regular study permit as SDS is acceptable only to certain countries as far as i know.

Colleges may accept Duolingo right now for admissions but to apply for study permit through, you may need IELTS.

Then you should not need IELTS to apply for a study permit but if refused for language skills, then you will need to take the test.

What are you confused about? Colleges and CIC are separate entities with different requirements. It's best to submit an English test with your application, regardless of the stream you choose. If you can get IELTS done, I'll advise that you do it. If you can't, you can submit whichever test you were able to complete.
