Check with the online WES Tool for Equivalency, If your UNI is mentioned there,then validity could be claimed and provide your details of Education and WES CA site generates a online report then, that is the same one you will get after paying them the hefty fees, Even if they say its only an opinion.

Over the last few decades, India has been emerging economically than "Second World" Countries; So I don't see the disdain to speculate the so called happenings in "Third World Countries"

My university is not mention on WES website, thats why iam worried ... feeling lost i was ready with my ielts and documents. Now dont know what to do. I have also try the free assessment of my credentials on WES the report say non recogonized institute. feeling lost.

We forum members, understand the pain - Don't feel lost, there are other options for immigration. Try out forums or seek guidance from registered agents.

What is the outcome of you SMU degree equivalency check done by accredited agency ?
Is it valid or not ?

It will be considered by the agency through which you will get your ECA report. If you are going through WES, I am sure they accept.

If you can find your university under this link http://www.aiuweb.org/Members/MembersA.asp then you are good to go.

SMU is not accredited by WES. it says this in the site

Hi All,

I have checked the DEC list and the UGC list. Synbiosis Center for Distance learning is recognized by both. Alos, WES site does not state that it does not access degrees from SCDL (unlike Sikkim Manipal).

Still on some other threads I am seeing that SCDL degress are rejected by WES saying it is from a non-recognised university. Can someone pls help and let me know if I should go ahead and get it accessed or not ?

or if someone has got it evaluated from WES pls reply.

I did my M.Sc in Bioinformatics two years (distance education) from Sikkim Manipal University in Feb 2006. Now, I am doing my postdoc from UofM, Canada. So, I am planing to apply for immigration here, but i found that Sikkim Manipal University Gangtok in a list of universities which is not recognized now from DEC. Please let me know still the issue is placed. The Sikkim Manipal University website is flashing distance courses still?????
