Is Dependent Visa is same as Spousal sponsorship??

Hi,

I am new to this forum and wanna ask:Is Dependent Visa is same as Spousal sponsorship??

I am a PR holder of Canada since 2016 and recently got married in 2017 Jan.

I want to bring my spouse here.

And I am confused between dependent visa and Spousal Sponsorship nw??

Are they same??

As you are a PR holder, I think you need to look into Spousal Sponsorship. When the sponsorship is approved, she will get a PR "visa"/document and land to get her PR status.

I think dependent visa is for foreworker or study visa holder.
