Is Canada approving Visitor Visa - April 2021

Hi,

I am currently in the U.S. and I wanted to apply for Canadian tourist visa to visit my friend when the borders open (they are closed till May 21).
If I apply online (I need not give biometrics, as I have applied for visa before) will my application be approved? I mean are they even accepting tourist visa applications or is there any restrictions due to Covid?

US border restrictions have been renewed every month or two so there is a good chance borders will still be closed to non-essential travel in May.

You can apply, dont expect fast response however, the border is aimed to reopen for july 4th (unofficially, likely US only) but certainly could be longer than that, i doubt it will be before july anyways, and your unlikely to even get the visa before july

They are processing but you don’t have family in Canada so you can’t enter right now anyways.
