That can't happen. You can't be in common law or another relationship and get married to sponsor. That's like bigamy

As I recall, your relationship (even without the bigamy) would not be common law as you have only resided together since September.

So, no he can't be in two relationships at once and have legal standing for both.

No it is not possible. And again, you stated in your very first post that you have lived with him since September so you are not legally in a common law relationship with your *hubby*

He can not have two wives. Period.

Does not matter legally. He can be the registered father of any child but he is only allowed one wife, not one wife and one common law wife and his fathering your child does nothing to speed up your common law standing.

You can't after September either - note that in another post you say you've lived together since February... Regardless: He can not have a legal wife and a common law wife.

Your boyfriend has two options available: Divorce his wife and then you would be able to be considered his common law wife after one year of continual cohabitation or, if he is from a culture or religion that BARRS divorce there is a possibility you may be able to pass the scrutiny of a conjugal relationship: Divorce would be the easier of the two but either way, this sounds like it will have difficulty being accepted as genuine.

Several people answered and told you the same thing. It is not possible. It is illegal. You can keep rephrasing and reposting the question until you get an answer you like, but if you do get the answer you want, it will be untrue.

You have several things against you. You are not in a common law relationship. Your boyfriend is married. You are neither a citizen or a PR of this country. There is absolutely nothing you can do about him sponsoring his wife.

Even when September rolls around, you will not be a Common Law spouse because he is already married and therefore he is not allowed to have another relationship (Common Law Spouse). It doesn't matter if you have a baby together. You are not legally his spouse and you never will be until he divorces his wife from his country. I know that culturally his family can tell him to sponsor his wife, but in Canada, no one can 'force' you to do anything. By Canadian law, your boyfriend is free to choose the person that he wants a relationship with. Your husband has a choice: he can choose to listen to his family and sponsor his wife, or he can choose to ignore his family and divorce his wife. If he chooses to divorce his wife, he is then allowed to start a common-law relationship with someone else (you).

P.S. Halifax Maple I've reported you because you haven't said anything in this thread that is relevant and you seem to just go around accusing people of being fake. You are not a moderator and you don't know who is fake and who is real so just contribute to the forum. If you have nothing relevant to say and you just want to say who you think is fake based on their "writing styles", then you are just being a distraction and hijacking threads. Please be courteous and make positive contributions.

If he is separated from his wife back home, he can enter a common law relationship and sponsor a common law wife. However, if he is going to sponsor the wife back home, then they are not separated and he will have to wait until 3 years after his wife lands as a PR to sponsor anybody else.

It is up to the man who he wants to sponsor. He needs to grow up, stop listening to his family and pick one wife.

Empress, you can definitely ruin his chances of sponsoring his legal wife. If he tries to sponsor her, just forward evidence that he is living with you in a conjugal relationship to the visa office processing his legal wife's PR application. When the visa officer sees the evidence you say you have, they are going to assume his legal marriage is over, any PR application is only to enter Canada and therefore will be refused.
