As per the requirements, a new comer planning to set up a company in Canada will have to get associated with either a Capitalist in the country or an Investor Group.

Please suggest if this is wrong. 8) 8) 8)

If someone is a new PR they can set up their own business. They don't have to be associated with anyone.

Where did you read this? What exactly did it say? I don't think any of us will be able to help you further unless you provide more details.

The OP is making reference to a new 'Start Up Visa' class announced by CIC Minister that requires a business type sponsor - venture capitalists are one such sponsor.

Through this program, the Canadians want to attract high-quality entrepreneurs from around the globe and help build best-in-class companies in Canada.
Under the new visa program, visas will be issued to entrepreneurs singled out by venture capital funds as the best candidates to launch startups in Canada.
Entrepreneurs will be required to get the support of an investor group or venture capital fund before they can apply to the program.
This way the Canadians will cut out any time wasters.
It is not how much money you have, It is what skills or new ideas you have.

Hello Scylla,

We have a Corporation and one of the shareholders does not have an status in Canada. In fact, she lives abroad, but has a visitor's visa.

Here is the question: Would she be able to qualify for a Canadian PR in the future?

Work contract would work?

Thanks

Time Wasters?
Do you know that there are 29 thousand applications in the Business streams around the world and that Canada is only processing 1600 of them right now? which means it would take 16 years to process all of them if they don't take in more applications.
Why don't they cancel all and return our money?
