Hi everyone!

Hoping to find some insight into express entry for registered nurses. I am just wondering if a bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree considered a professional degree under CIC? By definition it seems like it should be because you need a provincial license to practice but on CIC's website I cant seem to find it on the list of professional degrees.

Has anyone applied under this occupation? If yes, did you put in your education under bachelor's degree or professional degree because the points are different for both.
I would greatly appreciate any comments/suggestions/advice.

Thanks!

Yes, it's professional degree, you need to get license from provincial body but it's not counting in certification of qualification because I am RN in Ontario, I had to send my RN license for OINP but in express entry profile I said no for certification of qualification that's what CIC agent told me to do.

If your qualification matches any of these below then it is defined as professional degree as per CIC

Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
(also known as First professional degree or Entry-to-practice professional degree)

For Express Entry, we only accept professional degrees in these fields:

medicine,
veterinary medicine,
dentistry,
podiatry,
optometry,
law,
chiropractic medicine, or
pharmacy.

I think you should select "bachelor's degree".

How long did the OINP process take once you sent in your PNP paper application for nomination? I did get a notification of interest as well. So i am trying to weigh my options.

It's a bachelors degree - it's not a professional degree. Medicine (i.e. doctor) would be a professional degree. Nursing is not.
