Hi everyone,

Is anyone sure if we can put 2 applications under CEC, I have already applied and rec'd AOR, my experience letter in the application was not very detailed and its been 8 months since I applied and I havent heard back from them. I now have full one year skilled experience and can obtain a more detailed letter from my employer, is it possible to submit a second application while the first one is in process? Please advise if you are sure or if anyone knows from their experience or if they read this in any CIC rules.

I don't see why you couldn't, though I wouldn't personally. You haven't been rejected and you're within normal processing times.

However, it is good to be proactive and perhaps it makes sense to obtain an improved work experience letter and submit it to the CIC to be added to your case, along with a letter of explanation.

There are many waiting after they have received only AOR. so I would be patient. Too many applications can only confuse them. or add the details to the existing one

You can't. You can only have one CEC PR application active at a time. If you submit a new one it will be rejected as you have one on process.

You can certainly call them and ask to cancel the first one and then apply again.

Or as arowberry said, you can just send the new documentation to be attached to your case.

This isn't true - just a myth on this board. Confirmed via other people's experience and speaking with a lawyer.

I have heard cases before that people got refused by sending another applications while current application is on-going. Not a lot of happy stories there.

Asked CIC officer before long time ago through phone, and was told that you could apply for 2 different work permits or different PR programs. But you can't override on-going PR application, by applying the same one. Each person is assigned a single UCI#, and that number will be linked to all of your past & current applications: PR, work permit, visitors, and study permit. When you apply CEC PR application, they will evaluate your qualifications up until that application date. If you apply another same one while the other in process, you are only confusing Visa Officers. That's not a good recipe for a happy ending for your PR status.

I would rather be safe than sorry. Might as well update the VO officers with the proper documents. If other people have successfully applied CEC with 2 applications active at a time, please share their experiences here. So we can understand the situation better...

You mentioned that the first time you applied was 8 months. How was your work experience before then?

Now you told us that you have full one year skilled experience. Does that mean you were lacking experience before?

Have you tried contacting the VO to find update regarding your application status? What does it say on your ECAS status?
