Hi everyone... Experts in particular!

I had been sending emails to the CIC office where my application is being processed... saying (briefly) "I am so worried about my application, no one is replying and it has been so delayed... if the delay is caused by my conditional letter of acceptance, please find attached the new updated/unconditional offer from my university which was updated on June 21" and I was attaching the new letter. Several periodical emails of this, including the attachment, I finally received this reply last week:

"Dear Applicant:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your recent correspondence concerning your application for a temporary resident visa. The decision with regard to your application is final and the case is closed. Our office will not respond to any further inquiries concerning your file.
Please note that any new information you wish to provide must be submitted with a new application and processing fee. Should you wish to reapply, I would suggest that you do so only if your situation has changed substantively or you have significant new information to submit."

I am unable to decode this cypher especially that my application status is still "Open" and the decision is "Not started". Could it be a wrong copy/paste? What do you understand from this email? Please share your comments.

Many thanks,

P.S. I keep calling the CIC office in Canada to check about my application... the operator still confirms (according to the current status) that my application is still in process.

They update the online system a bit later than the actual position of you application. The email you get is the current status. Wait for your passport if you have submitted it.

Does it take long to update it on system? I received the email on July 20th. I have not submitted my passport yet!

As you can see... I do not understand what they mean by "the decision is final and the case is closed"! MyCIC account is not updated, so I have no idea what my application status is.

Did cic mean that she could reapply although the application is still open?

I do not think so. The email said, the case is closed. That's why the reapply option was provided I guess.

Have u tried to call vsf and asked them to help?
Maybe they know some cases like urs.
If y could reapply, i think better use vfs paper based.

U should send technical report but i think it might take so long!

What if the decision is Approved?!!! The thing is there has been an applicant here who applied twice online through the same CIC office and got rejected twice immediately with rejection letters... first time after two days and second time after three days. So they are updating the system with decision very soon... Why mine is still pending?!

I am not an expert... I couldnt really give a good solution.
The thing u could do now while waiting...

1. Try to prepare more complete files or better documents like what I do now.
So when you know you are rejected, you could apply as soon as possible.
but if you are approved, just keep the documents for future application, maybe extension or PR.

2. Try to call experts or creditable agencies and ask them if they know your case or not.

Thank you Pepo,

I already have all necessary documents ready. If it was a rejection, the rejection letter would be crucial and needed to rectify the missing parts.

This statement sounds like rejection...may b
