Is AADL considered social assitance

Question for the experts in AB
As the title states. Is AADl considered social assistance. It is outside AHS, they look at income, and the pay for a certain % of the medical device.

So my 2019 PGP sponsored FIL, is in need of leg brace, and the provide wants him to apply for AADL, I'm wary and would rather him not.

Any experiences, opinions?

There are other things that likely need to be discussed with AADL. Do they know your father was sponsored by and you? Are You listing your father as a dependent on your taxes? Even if he qualifies for AADL your family income may be the income that is considered not his.

No I sponsored him. So he is in essence not entitled to received social assistance.
That is why I asked if anyone had experience with AADL
