Is a wedding invitation convincing enough as Purpose of Travel?

For the Purpose of Travel section of my [online] visitor visa application it says that the things that count as evidence that I am only going as a genuine tourist are itineraries, a boarding ticket departing Canada, and other stuff like medical records. I can't get tickets yet as they want you to show a visa first before applying and I am not exactly sure how to present any kind of travel itinerary.

The only proof of travel I presented so far is the invitation to my best friend's wedding, but I'm worried that it won't be evidence enough of me being a genuine tourist and I will get refused.

Search through this forum for successful examples. There are plenty.

However, focus less on your purpose of travel and more on presenting your ties to your home country. That’s why wedding invitations alone are never sufficient.

But don't you present that more in the Travel History section?
Ok, what I’m trying to say instead is that the success of your application relies less on what you present as your purpose of travel, but more on your socio-economic ties to your home country (job/business, financial support, travel history to visa-required countries). Don’t stress too much about this part. Me personally, I would include the wedding invitation and a daily itinerary of your stay in Canada. If your socio-economic ties are good enough, those would suffice.

But case to case basis. Officers also have different interpretations. That’s why I suggest to search this forum so you can figure out what applies to your case best.
