Hi, question for OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream.
I have an Ontario College Graduate Certificate, which is 1 year long. My course duration was full-time, 2 semesters (period of 8 months). However, my transcript and course details mention that it is a 1-year program. I received a 1-year PGWP as well.
Does this count under the eligibility requirement: "a college graduate certificate that takes at least one year to complete if pursued on a fully-time basis from an eligible Ontario institution"?
Will I be eligible to apply for the OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream, given that the employer meets the eligibility criteria?

To confirm it again, yes you qualified for OINP International Student Stream. OINP change the requirements starting January 1, 2024 and they have allowed 1 year programs (certificate or graduate certificate)
  • a college graduate certificate that takes at least one year to complete if pursued on a fully-time basis from an eligible Ontario institution
But mind you that is only applicable within 2 years after you graduate. Ex. if you are applying this year 2024, you should have at least graduate 2022 onwards. If you graduated in 2021 it will not be applicable for this stream.

Hello itsjustme321,
My case is quite similar to yours. Could you kindly confirm whether you faced any difficulties in obtaining the nomination under OINP at a later stage by considering two semesters of study from an Ontario institute as equivalent to one year of education?

So you took a graduate certificate? School?

Yes, graduate certificate from an Eligible Ontario institutions (college)
Ok. So what is your question if you have certificate. OINP hasn’t had a draw and cut in half. Is your OINP score and NOC selected with your job offer from your employer. And employer is supporting your nomination.

I recently completed an Ontario College Graduate Certificate on a part-time basis over a period of 16 months. The program is normally two semesters in length if pursued full-time. I completed this program without a study permit while working under a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), as a temporary public policy allows foreign nationals with valid work permits to study without a study permit.

According to the education eligibility criteria for the OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream, one of the accepted qualifications is:

  • a college graduate certificate that takes at least one year to complete if pursued on a full-time basis from an eligible Ontario institution
My question:
Would a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate qualify under this criterion?

My confusion lies in the interpretation of "at least one year to complete" versus "two-semester program length"

Yes, It is eligible. I received the nomination and also filed for the PR application with it.
So you received and you were part time without a study permit? The question is that it says you must be full time and completed within a year but person was part-time

I was full-time one-year post graduate diploma student which completed in 8 months (2 semester).

You can submit the query to OINP using their webform. https://www.ontarioimmigration.gov.on.ca/oinp_index/resources/app/home/index.html#!/form
