Is 6.5 not sufficient for PR?

Hi all,

I recently received my IELTS score 6.5,but my consultant stated that they will ask for 7.0 ....is that accurate...

There is a requirement of total points in the application. If your case requires that you receive all of the 16 points allocated for linguistic ability then your consultants is right that you will need more points on the IELTS. Otherwise, there is no minimum, you could get 0 points for language if you have full points on the rest of your application.

What do you mean by 6.5? You should have individual band for each of the four abilities.

Hi,

check the website... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp . take eligible test. U can easily find weather you are eligible or not....

Consider your IELTS score in whole context. For example, You have 5.5 band in each module, you will get 8 points. Now, if total of all your other point is 59 or greater, your total points are 67 (59 + 8) and so you are eligible for application.

Suppose you get 7 band in each module, your points will be 16. But if sum of your all other points not reach to 51, you are not eligible for application because your total not reach to 67.

What are individual band for speaking reading writing and listening????

I think in listening section it need >=7.5 to obtain 4 point and others section need >=6.5 for obtaining 4*3=12 results a total 16 point.
Correct me please if I made a mistake.
