Hi, me and my girlfriend are here in Vancouver since September 2014. Our visas run out this September and we want to go for PR. I have a full time job but it is skill level C, and she also works and has a bachelor's degree and her job is skill level B. Has anyone been in a similar situation and gotten PR? If so which way did you apply? Thanks in advance

You'll need to provide more information - you've provided too little for anyone to help.

Does your girlfriend have at least one year of full time work experience in Canada that's skilled? What about outside of Canada - does she have skilled work experience and if so, how much? Is she working on a PGWP or on a closed work permit obtained through an LMIA? How many points does she have under Express Entry? Etc...

Oh right, sorry! Yes she has 1 year skilled work experience in Canada and 2 years outside of Canada. No she is not working on a pgwp and work have told her that an lmia is not likely. She has 479 points under express entry

Has she already set up an Express Entry profile? If so - then she should have gotten an invitation today. If not - then what is she waiting for?

Note that you can only be included in her application if you are common law (i.e. have lived together continuously for at least one full year and can prove it).

No she has not done the english test yet so does not have one set up, we don't really know the process and that is why I'm asking for advice here. I'm trying to gather information so that we do not make any mistakes while applying. Yes we have lived together since September 2014, and also for a year in 2011. Thanks for your help

She needs to do the English test before she can apply. So if becoming a PR is a priority - she needs to make the language test a priority.

If you want to ensure you make no mistakes while applying, there is really no substitute for reading the CIC web site information in detail (apart from hire a good immigration lawyer to represent you and do the research for you).

If you have further questions - you should be asking them in the Express Entry section of the forum.
