I guess that's why they've recently exempted students from the ongoing travel restrictions. They want students to study at least %50 of their studies in Canada.

Physical presence is the key point hereThis is quite confusing, because based on the Comprehensive Ranking System tool, these are the requirements:
There is no mention regarding distance learning/online learning.
- English or French as a Second Language must not have made up more than half your study
- you must not have studied under an award that required you to return to your home country after graduation to apply your skills and knowledge
- you must have studied at a school within Canada (foreign campuses don’t count)
- you had to be enrolled full time for at least eight months, and have been physically present in Canada for at least eight months
That's my point. If we base it on the Comprehensive Ranking System Tool, if you are taking classes online, but you are physically in Canada, you would most likely receive points. However, if you are taking online classes outside of Canada, then maybe you would not receive points.Physical presence is the key point here

This doesn't make sense. Why would they allow the work permit but not allow the crs points?@neilwazzup, @Kingaos, @Tarora:
From the current Ministerial Instructions respecting the Express Entry system, see section 30(5)(b) underlined below.
Because the Ministerial Instructions do not allow for points to be given for distance learning courses. They would have to go through the legal process to promulgate new Ministerial Instructions. This doesn't make sense. Why would they allow the work permit but not allow the crs points?
Okay but my DLI made it clear the next semester will be online. So if I'm there and it's online. I won't receive points?Because the Ministerial Instructions do not allow for points to be given for distance learning courses. They would have to go through the legal process to promulgate new Ministerial Instructions.
