We’re issuing new passport booklets as of June 19, 2023
Until we finish installing the printers for the new passports in all offices, you may still get the current passport when you apply. By spring 2024, we’ll just be issuing the new passports.

If you have a valid passport already, it’s still secure and reliable. You don’t need to apply for a new one.

Oh crap. I want the old one. Now I have to figure out which office is still issuing the old ones when it's my turn.

Haha! Would be happy to trade. They did mention at the Scarborough office that it would be atleast till the end of the year by the time they run out of the current version. That along with the printer switchover means you can probably still get the old one if you apply there.

That is correct!! They did mention that you won't get the new one until they are not done installing printers in all offices. So it's most likely the next one.

Immigration just called and cancelled my July 17 oath ceremony.


They rescheduled it to July 14.

They are spending their time very efficiently, moving existing oaths around instead of scheduling new ones.

The original date was a virtual oath but they saw my request and wanted to honour it. I was NOT expecting that.

So probably your request was not what triggered the LPP, as it seems they just saw it.

So SCR office responded yesterday to my email I sent a few days ago asking about Oath date. At the time my tracker wasn't showing the Oath date

I thanked them for the response and while I was at it I asked if I could opt for e certificate. They responded saying we have an e-certificate ceremony a couple days after that they can schedule me for if I want to

They advised to respond if I want to change or not respond at all if I don't want to

This is interesting. There are oath ceremonies that e certificates are available to vs not
