Applied for passport today at Passport Canada, North York, ON
Normal processing
Passports will be ready for pickup in 10 business days I.e. Oct 5
You didn't need any booking to apply ? And you get it in 10 days under normal processing? That's progress...

We had booked tickets, but at the counter we told them to process the application as normal processing). They said fine and the normal processing is 10 working days (i.e. 14 calendar days).

I didn’t wait for their email. I recommend you, do it and send it . Because definitely they need renewal fingerprints. 3 weeks ago I had interview. Yesterday I checked my status. My background check changed from in progress to complete.
@nikta thanks for your response, also did you ever get the email request before it was completed ?

My friend, exactly 3 days before my interview I received the second fingerprints request, but as I told you , I have done my fingerprint 1 month before receiving email. I didn’t wait for them.

But just let you know, my case is different with your case. Do you know why .. because, your officer in during interview told you , you need updated fingerprint snd they will send you. In my case, in during interview, I told to my officer, my fingerprint is done and RCMP already has been sent ti you. And she checked in her system snd she confirmed. To be honest, I don’t know which one is better for you . Doing fingerprint before receiving their email or waiting for them .

Great to know that. If you don't mind my asking, how was the lineup at north York? I'm planning to go there too, just confused what time should I line up

We ended up waiting in the queue for about 90 mins (we were by around 9:00 am).
After which we were asked to sit/wait in another hall (about 30 mins)
Then move to another queue where documents were verified at the reception and token was issued (20 mins in the line)
We then moved to the a room where we finally submitted the application (wait time there was 15 mins)

And guess what by the time we walked out it was 12:30/1:00 pm or so and there was no queue down stairs...

So moral of the story... go around noon :D

Does the online application have the same timeline (10 business days)?

It wasn't. Even if it was, it doesn't apply anymore.
Correct. As of June 2017, there is no longer the requirement to intend to reside in Canada after citizenship.

Hello everyone,

I have been invited to the Citizenship Ceremony on Oct 24 and I have to travel to the US for a few days on Oct 25. I understand that during the Ceremony the PR is destroyed, so I was wondering if the Canadian Government was providing a temporary document to replace the PR? What might be the alternatives for me to travel to the US if I don't have my PR?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers!
