Stuck background checks are a common reason for indefinitely long delays. I guess you have already ordered GCMS notes if you know that you have cleared security but still have criminality in progress? When did you clear security and for how long has criminality been in progress? Unfortunately some people do get delayed for a long time if IRCC's criminality check is waiting a long time on third party responses, and often there isn't much that can be done, especially if you have not passed 27 months. The only thing I can suggest is contacting your MP, but after you at least pass the 1 year mark.

We cannot come to conclusions, that background check is not completed since it's not updated in the system. I know a friends his criminally check was not updated fir two years, but based on gcrms it was completed within few days. Same with mine it did not get updated soon after its completed. SCR office officers are assoles. How come they can process the 2021, 2022 apllications while 2019, 2020 applicants are waiting ? Those who are waiting is not due to criminal records or frequent travels. It's simply due to file end up with assoles

Was the passport office busy? Do you mind sharing at what time you went there and how long did you wait?

We reached there before 9:00 am and left around 1:00 pm
But I did notice that around 1:00 there was no queue of people. So if you plan your visit to this specific office around noon you might be able to complete your process much more quickly than we did

So we had the tickets that were already booked quite a few weeks ago...but at the counter we told them that we will shift our travel dates and we will opt for normal processing insread of expedited one

Mine is similar case. I got test invite from Mississauga office where I currently live. My file was transferred to Scarborough probably because I originally landed / lived there. So oath invitation was sent by Scarborough office.

It might actually be a good thing since there is no traction for files in SCR office. Test marked as complete in April 2022. Radio silence after that. I know that there are so many folks in similar situation.

I think it depends on when is your AOR. This is my assumption. From 1 day to a month.

A friend of mine got the oath date updated very next day after the decision Made. His AOR was December 2021. DM was August 24th and Oath date updated on 25th for October 5th.

Mine took close to two weeks. AOR April 2022
