Hi everyone,

I have started the process and I'm on step where I need to upload the document in the portal. I have queries about 2 documents:

1. Consent personal information -- Complete this form only if you authorize Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to release information from your case file to someone other than yourself

-- Can anyone provide format for this as there isn't any pdf / form in the portal.

2. Employer letter (current)

A copy of a letter from the employer in Canada. This letter must state that the company will hire you to work in Canada for a specific period of time.

The letter must be printed on the company's official letterhead and include your name, the details of your employment in Canada, and the company's contact information.

--- How is it possible to provide such letter for TRV of spouse as she's not in Canada and she is working in India and intend of travel is just a visit.

Can anyone plz help for these 2 documents?

1. There should be form number written as IMMxxx on that folder. Search that on google and download that form

2. Don't need to submit anything for this as this is optional.

Hi Vinay,

Usually the consent letter is required only if you are applying through a 3rd party like consultants. In your case you wouldn't need that. You can simply fill all the details and submit the application online as if your wife is applying.

Coming to the employment letter, it is required to show that your wife has some connections with India and will have to go back. The letter can just state that she is working as a xxx position in the company from xx Date till today and her leave is approved from xx date to xx date to visit Canada. She is obligated to resume to office by xx date. If possible it would be good to mention the annual salary to show that she is financially independent. That's mostly what is mentioned in the letter.. It should be on company's letter head and signed by HR or manager.

Hope this helps. I've applied visit visa for my parents and had submitted a letter for my father. Their passports were stamped recently.

Thank you for your reply. Should i be 5476 [ use of representative] or 5475 [ release of information to other person] ?

Yes, I can do that.

regarding letter, yes, I have that one. But in the portal, it was asking about canadian employer - I think that can be ignored.

Also, if you don't mind, may I send you DM ?

You can apply however your mother in law has to

1. Show her own funds for travel
2. Demonstrate home ties
3. Justify her purpose of visit to Canada
