IRCC New Portal vs GC Key - Visitor Visa

Hello All,

I'm a Permanent Resident of Canada and currently in Canada. I want to apply for visitor visa for mother (she is widowed).

My question is shall I apply through new IRCC Portal (where I can select the option visiting immediate family member in Canada) or shall I apply through GCKey?

My friend applied for visitor visa for his parents through GC Key and he received the PPR in 1.5 months.

Please guide!

I applied via GC key and still waiting, everyone says portal is faster, so I will go with that. I am waiting over 1 months now

I applied for my parents visitor visa as well in GC key. It has been more than 3 months and no reply
