Hello,do ircc have the right to ask a bank about the balance of a client?
They won't contact your bank. However they may contact you and ask you for more or updated proof of your banking information.

I am not sure if they do this within Canada, but during my previous engagement outside of Canada, they used to fax and ask Bank Manager to confirm bank statement in DOUBT (more specific, opening balance, closing and names). They dont do it on every application, but only when they have doubt.

Banking laws vary from country to country so your actual experience may vary, but in the bank where I work we can only confirm details indicated if we made a certification on your bank details and the party asking is the one to whom we addressed the certification.

For example, if we made a bank certification on April 1, 2022 saying you have $10,000 in your savings account addressed to IRCC, all we can tell them if they call to confirm is “Yes, Abdullahi98 had $10,000 in his account as of April 1.” We will not tell them if you withdrew the amount soon after or if the balance the day before was only $50.

Hi expers ,
Looking for your urgent advice , I am on canadian student permit , my mom is on super visa.My brother who is a citizen sponsored me and my mother. Next Friday me, my mom and my brother will fly to Canada. My question is should I face the immigration officer at the boarder separately not with my family? My concern is that as my father passed away , my mom and brother both have status in canada it may create doubt about my connection to home country and my entry to Canada will be blocked. Please advice on this.

Thanks
Maple
