Hi Guys,

So I applied for ECA through IQAS and I feel like I made a huge mistake. My documents reached IQAS on 14th November but there has been no emails from their side, since.

So I checked their website & surprise surprise, it says
  • "An assessment takes 12 weeks to process after all required documents and payments are received"
Also for sending an email confirmation (aka AOR) they can take 4 weeks or more, depending on their work-load.

That's 16 weeks, easily!

When I applied, their website showed processing time of 9 weeks & most people received AORs by 2nd week. And I guess the Christmas holidays is going to further delay the whole process.

Is anyone else in my shoes here?

Recieved AOR after 4 weeks, got notification on 26th October. 2 other people on this forum with similar time frames have received their ECA, while I am still waiting. Though officially, my expected date was last week of December, I am disappointed I haven't received mine yet.

Husband applied at WES 2 solid months after me. He already has an ECA in hand. If WES recognises your university, please don't make the mistake of going with IQAS. In fact, you may be better served by applying to WES even now.

I agree with Snaina. Unless your university was not recognized by WES or your degrees have some issue (I know WES tends to not recognize India MS degrees [not my first hand experience, others correct me if wrong]), it's a no brainer to go with WES.

If you have money and urgently need ECA, I even suggest you withdraw your application with IQAS and submit to WES. WES took me a little over 20 days.

ICES from BCIT can do it within 3 weeks after they receive all documents for an extra 200 dollars. I just don't know if they recognize your college.

Thanks, I wish I could, but only my Masters degree is recognized by WES & not Bachelors. Also, my husband submitted his along with me and his unis are not recognized by WES either. I checked ICES as someone just advised & they take 17 weeks! ICAS takes 20 weeks now. What do these guys think? They want us all to wait for half a year for this?

Received 1st AOR yesterday (12/12/2017) exactly 4 weeks after they received *all* of our documents. Waiting for AOR 2 & ECA now.

Are you sure they take 17 weeks? You can check the processing time here.

And besides, you only need your highest education credential assessed to claim the points. The rest should be included in your personal history. I got this suggestion from an ICCRC consultant and this is what I did.

Ah, I just went through your link! Now I feel like a fool waiting on IQAS for my ECA. :( When I applied for IQAS, they said 9 weeks by then. Today, their website has a different timeline.

Hi,

I got my wife's ECA done through WES. It took 8 weeks for them to send in the ECA certificate. All in all it took 12 weeks from the date of receipt of documents. So this time I opted for my ECA (Bachelor's and Master's) through IQAS as my brother lives near to there office (Edmonton, Alberta). They received my application on 3rd September, that's when I received an email from them stating the same and I got my certificate in first week of November. So I guess it took 8 weeks for them to process all. My brother followed my case telephonically with IQAS as there website is a dudd. No way to contact them. Just a form to fill.
For my wife's MBA i used IQAs and that was a mistake as they do not entertain provisional degree and in India we get our degree after 1 yr of completion of our course, hence I could not use her MBA in EE. So in nutshell I would suggest going with WES.

When I was trying to get my ECA reports, I have compared all the processing times of those organizations. I used WES for mine and ICES for my wife.

Waiting for AOR 2 now. Praying I receive it before the Christmas holidays.

Received 2nd AOR yesterday!! Yayyy!

Received my ECA on February 6th (within 7 weeks of 2nd AOR) whereas husband's ECA is still pending!! Do not know how that is even possible since he sent most documents a couple of days before me.

Hi, I understand from your details given here that you are a resident of KSA - pardon me if I'm wrong. Could you please let me know if you'd recommend IQAS or ICAS for ECA? Thank you in advance for your advice.

My residency has no impact on eca. My university did. If you can, go for wes. Otherwise Iqas and Icas are the samw timeline wise.
