Both are fine - Make sure to take "General Training" instead of "Academic"

Hey..another question part of IDP exam.

What are possible accents will come for the Listening part? Only Australian or both?

Could you please add if I am missing something here?

I have coming IDP IELTS test this month.

Expect a few accents, most are British, Aussie, American or Kiwi but sometimes they may just drop in the regional accents from UK like Scottish

In my two exams I took it at British Council. My first result is disheartening: Writing 6 and Speaking 6.5. I know how to speak and listen and write in English all my life since it is medium of instruction in my school from Kindergarten to College. And then the FSWP closed its doors on 2012 and as such my IELTS results became useless.

However on my second take something got my attention: I got two most important tip from a British Council staff. One is that to get the highest grade one only have to hit all the criteria for scoring. And criteria for each section is different so one has to be familiar on how each section is graded. I studied via Googling 'IELTS tips' and watch the tip videos in each section on Youtube which the IELTS themselves produced. And two is just keep talking and connecting with the examiner on speaking test even if you do not know the topic, telling them that its from your friends or somebody else experience (that really saved me as I'm not talkative at all) and that in writing just invent if you do not know what to say and just make it cohesive enough to make the whole writing looks flow smoothly as long as you answer all the questions being asked in each task 1 and 2 (each has two or three pointers like cite example, agree or disagree, explain, etc.).

As such I was able to get the grade I needed to perfect in FSWP.

By the way as for IDP I'm not so sure since I haven't tried taking exam there because its a little farther from my place to their office (20 minutes farther from BC office). However my aunt took her exam a year ago in IDP and it seems they are a bit more stingy in giving score. Or maybe its just her shortcomings.

Go for British Council, IDP is a fraud. If you don't trust me, search "IDP Mouthshut" or "IDP Reviews" on Google.

hey friends!!
i m back with results in british council. my scores are as follow:
L 7.5
R 7
W 6
S 7
now i m damn sure that it is good to give british than IDP ielts. If you have noticed all the dates are booked very fast in british where as the IDP gives oportunity till late. other thing is that british council has a limited number of seats where as in IDP they conduct exam for 250 students at a time in same hall. i apeared in baroda IDP center. it was terrible experience. the speaking exam was so fast conducted that she din't even give me 2 minutes to think in cue card.probably because she had to finish lot of students. where as the british council the examiner made me comfortable. she asked me shall we start? Also at the end they had some arrangement for refreshments...
In IDP there is nothing like that.
friends believe me British is the best.

with best wishes.

I have taken IELTS (GT) exam on 19th July 2014. Got overall bandscore of 6.
I want to retake the IELTS exam. Is there any time gap (of mandatory 3 months) should be maintained between 2 IELTS (GT) exams. I have read in few sites that a time gap of 3 months should be maintained between 2 IELTS attempts.

I want to retake the exam as soon as possible.
Please advice.

Mr. Krishna,

No time gap is required for IELTS. You can take as many times u want. good luck
