Dear Fellows,

I have a question about the IP1 and IP2 stages and what to expect.

I received AOR August 28th.

Medical passed September 13

Then my background check started to be “We are processing your background check. We will contact you if we need further information’”

On September 20 I received a request for a birth certificate and IMM5406 form.

On September 22nd I submitted the needed documents

On September 27 my background check status changed to “Not Applicable”

On September 28th around 4 pm, my status has changed to “We are processing your background check. We will contact you if we need further information’”

Does it mean that I am at IP1 or IP2?

Thank you very much for the help.

"We are processing your background check." Sounds like IP2 to me.

IP1 should be "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."

My thought is you are currently in IP2 now. But as everyone knows, CIC works in surprising ways. Good luck.

PS: Please try to avoid the 3-blank lines in-between 2 written lines, its an inconvenience to read. Thanks.

Thank you for help and explanation. It has been only a month since my AOR, is it a good sign to have IP2 now or it is extremely fast for this? If I am really in IP2, will it take them 5-10 days on average to come up with a decision?
Thank you.
