Hi,

I landed as PR in canada in Feb,2020. I have a job and savings to show i can support my mother financially for her visit. I have some concern in terms of any approval issues.

My mom holds Indian passport but is currently in the USA with my brother and is stuck due to covid travel restrictions. We applied for her extension with USCIS and its in process.

Now that travel is getting relaxed a bit, she can potentially travel back to india but i feel its very risky given her age and she lives alone there so no one to take care of her. Eventually, i want to sponsor her but i need to be here 3 years for that to show tax documents of past 3 years. But for now, i wish to apply 6 month visitor visa for her until this covid is a bit more under control. I looked at super visa too but since that's a one time 2 year visit, i want to make sure to use it wisely.

My concern is - i have documentation and financing to support her but she's been a housewife and has no job or ties to show except her house in india for which we don't have documents since she's in USA as of now. I need some opinions or any past experience.

Are there any chances of CIC rejecting her application?

I genuinely appreciate your time to read and answer this post. Thank you

Sorry I dont want to be a SPOILER here, but on a different note, have you checked the processing times for SuperVisa and for Visitor visa???
In my opinion, they are Crazy as of now. 205 and 245 days respectively, as of today. Dont know if you (or me) are prepared for this long wait.

Yeah, I’m aware of that. I think the wait time from US is less than wait time from India but not sure if it works by county of citizenship.

It’s unfortunate but also a problem we can’t solve. The pandemic has disrupted everything - I hope it gets better soon and cic catches up on backlog .
