Invitation to the test without reviewing RQ ?

Hello wonderful group,

I have spoken to cic today and they advised me that I suppose to get an invitation to the test any time from now till June 2014, I asked him then my RQ is finalized ?, he seems to give me non accurate info. as he said RQ and test invitation are separate process and you can be invited to the citizenship test before finalizing the RQ review, is that possible?, I am really confused now , he said after the test I should wait for the hearing, what hearing?.

Hi look4d,

Sorry to disappoint you but that does not often mean that you will definitely get the Invite by June 2014 (I hope you do though)! I know it from personal experience and from other applicants in this forum. Usually you will have a hearing with the Judge after the RQ is finalized (not everybody get hearing with the judge, depends on how complicated your application is I guess) Good luck!

Thank you Yolka, so the hearing means 2 more years delay?, or the delay will happen if I need to meet with a judge?, and is it possible to get test invitation before my RQ finalized and reviewed?

Is the hearing a typical step after reviewing my RQ?

1. Optimistic view - As per ATIP releases out last year (they are on eileenf's website) CIC has 8 or 9 months (depends on application received at Sidney date) post transfer to the Local Office to schedule a test - after this the call center sends a reminder note to the local office to schedule a test. RQ situation different but on the same rational does this by June 2014 date fit in with your transfer timeline?

2. Realistic view - There is an OB out (can't recall which) that clearly states RQd applicants have a 'hold' placed on their file to prevent a test being automatically scheduled prior to the RQ being reviewed so unless the agent knows your RQ has been assessed they are feeding you bovine waste product.

When was your last ATIP/ GCMS notes request and did it reveal anything useful?

Thank you Msafiri, I did get ATIP July 2013, and there was nothing useful, no scheduled test and no officer assigned to my RQ to review, I guess I should request ATIP now, do you think if I requested ATIP every 3 months or so, this will have negative impact on my application?

I would not request ATIP so often if I were you! I do not know if it will have any negative impacts on your application by requesting it too often. Stick to 35 months non routine process time for now (since you have RQ) and request ATIP when it is closer to 35 months. I know it is way too long to wait but from your timeline it seems you are hitting 35 months soon! Hope you hear from them before that time. By the way lots of applicants with RQ receiving this letter these days (the one that tells you to prepare for the test).

I had the same situation. My RQ wasnt reviewed when I had my test. The test and interview process is the same. The officer gathered the passport copy and looked at my ids and told me that they will get back to me if they have any further questions....

Hi,

I had the same situation at Scarborough last week. The officer reviewed my file briefly and cross check couple of dates with my passport. Did check marks on my file and told me that my RQ has not been reviewed and they need to send it to St Clair for them to review and contact me if they need any further information...

My local office is St Clair but for some reason i got RQ from Sydney and been requested to send my RQ response to Scarborough. Got the test and now they want to send it to St clair for their review.

My time line:

Could it be that they accidentally scheduled us for interview & test before reviewing the RQ?

no it is common these days. 2 of my friends got RQ and but they received test letter - on the test day they say 3 months to review RQ and then Oath.

he got oath after 5 moths. (after test)

Thanks for the information. Still don't know why i'd been asked to send my RQ response to Scarborough & my test was there and now the file suppose to be transferred to St Clair for RQ review before the oat!
