Hello All,

Just need your great help with my confusion, please see my case below:

I have worked for 9 months in a government organisation in India but I did not mention this experience in my express entry profile as I do not have any documents to prove that. Now, while filling the personal activities history I am confused whether to mention this experience or not.

I worked in Coal India Limited as an Engineer Trainee, does that count as a government position?

If I mention this experience would I be asked to provide supporting documents?

Please advice me on this.

Regards,
Aman

Mention it in your personal history. You will not have to provide evidence.

Only you really know if it was a government position.

Thank you for your help!

Also I would like to tell you that I my Canadian work permit expired on may 2015 but I requested for an extension of work permit, I mailed the application just a day before the expiry date of my work permit. The application for work permit extension was refused within 3 months. Then I applied for visitor status stating that I am planning to enroll into another post grad course and need sometime to figure my best option. Since I did not hear back from CIC in the next 2 months I came back to my home country India.
Three months later CIC approved my request for visitor status and gave me visitor's visa for 6 months.

In Jan 2017 I received an invitation to apply for PR and I am not sure what would be the best approach to explain this scenario. Please advise.

Also what should I choose for the 2 questions below:

Have you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

Have you been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?:

Not sure on the difference between the two questions so I will say yes to both and have the same answer.

Explain your situation in an LOE just as you have here :)

Ok sounds good but do you think that this complicacy can make my application unsuccessful? I am just worried about that.

And Thank you so much for prompt response!

Shouldnt do as long as you explain everything as best you can. Mention when you stopped working when you knew you were out of status etc.
