Hi all,

I am trying to apply for a TRV for my mother and sister from India for around 1 month stay with me. I already have a Canadian PR and am currently in Toronto.

Situation: My mother is a housewife and gets government pension every month apart from a fixed monthly rent from her property.

What will be the best way to convince the visa officer that she will return to India after 1 month and will not overstay her visa?

I am trying to draft an invitation letter for her and this is what I have so far:

Subject: Invitation Letter for Mrs. xxxxx

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is xxxxx, I was born on xxxxx and I am from Toronto, Canada. I am a Canadian permanent resident and I live in xxxxxxxxx. I work as a xxxxxx for xxxxxxx in Toronto, earning CAD$xxxxxxx per year.

Through this letter, I am inviting my mother xxxxxx, born on xxxxxx and who currently lives in xxxxxxx, India to Canada for a short stay. She will be staying in with me from December 1st until December 26th, 2019. The main reason for this visit is to celebrate my birthday on xxxx in addition to touring around Toronto for 2-3 weeks at different locations like Blue mountains, thousand islands, and Niagara falls etc.

After my father’s demise, my mother, xxxxxxxxx receives pension every month from the State government in addition to the rent she earns from her apartment in xxxxxxx amounting to CAD $xxxx. With approx. CAD $xxxx in her bank savings she can easily manage her day to day expenses while in Canada. She also needs to report back to the State government office in order to continue receiving the pension for next year hence there is zero possibility of overstaying her visa.

Information about xxxxx:

Complete Name: xxxx

Date of Birth: xxxx

Telephone: xxxx

Relationship: Mother

Purpose of trip: To visit and tour the local attractions around Toronto and celebrate my birthday.

Duration of stay: 4 weeks (December 2nd, 2019 to December 26th, 2019)

How will the person afford the expenses: My mother will use her bank savings (CAD $xxxx) for the major expenses like air tickets, transportation and day to day expenses. As she will be staying with me, there will be no accommodation expense.

When will the person leave: December 26th, 2019

Information about me:

Telephone: xxxx

Job Title: xxxx

Status in Canada: Permanent Resident (PR card is attached)

Family detail:

I am attaching my PR card, my bank statements, my employment letter, Relationship proof with my mother and my mother’s savings for your kind perusal and strengthen this application.

Feel free to contact me should you have any further questions regarding myself or xxxx.

I am really looking forward to have my mother visit me and spend some time together and, visit the country.

Hi,

That seems detailed explanation, covering a good reason to go back.
Few suggestions:
1. If you can reduce the duration (in letter) may be to 2 - 3 weeks.
2. Instead of saying no accommodation expense, you may assure that you will bear all expenses related to food, accommodation and travel.

Good Luck
