i am actually from pakistan karachi..the whole process has almost taken 4 years..
we got our medical in october 2012..and submitted all our documents along with it..
i am not the main applicant,my dad is since we have applied on the investors basis..
just need to know how long after the medical is takes for the visas to come?
we get our PR when we land there n canada?

Medicals are only valid for one year and you must land in Canada before the medicals expire, therefore I would think that you should be hearing something from them very soon.
Only after you land in Canada can you apply for your Permanent Resident Card and that is supposed to take 8 - 12 weeks after you apply.

@helpless : It takes aroung 10 - 12 weeks before they ask you to send Passports for visas but due to Christmas and New year holidays i think you should keep 12 - 14 weeks in mind !

and i heard that they ask for the photocopied passports after a month of medical?but they havent from us!!
i have been hearing that it is taking long for the pakistanis to get the visas?may be 6 months after the medicals..is that true?
and in rare cases one can go through the medical again after an year?

?hi , any one can help me . i applied federel investor programm in jan 2008 from islamabad ,after that my file was transfered to London may 2011.
its been going to 5 years still i didnt even get documents request . please tell me know when i be able to get document request ?

i had my interview in mar'10 and file sent to london in nov'10. the status update of aor came in nov'10 and processing started in apr'12.
got medical request in may'12 and done in the same month. further medicals for 1 fam member were requested in jul'12 and oct'12 (sent them out w/in 2 weeks of request in both cases). had a new born in jun'12 whose meds were requested and done in end sep'12.
last update on the site showing medical results received was put up in end nov'12 and waiting for the next stage since then, which some lawyers suggest can take b/w 6-10 weeks.
though have also heard that process becomes quite quick once the 1st stage is successfully completed. do revert w/ your timeline and pass on any information you may heard that might be useful.
