Can you believe this -I applied for GCMS notes through my agent on feb 4 , 2019 —-till now no response .
I also applied GCMS notes on March 2019 through my agent ,- and response on July 16 . Not started process.

I have seen these two pieces of news. It looks like there are some serious movements to expedite the speed of federal process for QIIP applicants.

Anyone with any comments?

"We believe that it is essential to increase, as of 2020, the selection thresholds of the PIIQ that have been reduced by 50% in 2019 in order to increase the capital available to Quebec SMEs. By tabling its Bill 9 1 last spring, the government has clearly stated its intention to align the needs of Quebec businesses with the skills profile of immigrant candidates. We ask that this will be reflected in the processing of requests from the PIIQ, which is a powerful growth tool for Quebec SMEs, "said Louis Leblanc , senior vice-president of National Bank Financial.

Without counting the 2,500 families awaiting selection by Quebec, more than 5,000 families in the immigrant investor category are currently waiting for a permanent residence visa in order to settle in Quebec.

"These families awaiting admission have already contributed to Québec's prosperity through their regulatory investment. Current deadlines jeopardize the reputation of the program, "said Marc Audet , President and Chief Executive Officer of AURAY Capital, a member of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton .

Among other things, they recommended granting immigrant investors a Certificate of Acceptance from Quebec so that they could settle more quickly in the province, which would encourage their retention.

Does this mean that investors of the QIIP who have CSQ can shift and live in Quebec province? And if so can their children study in Quebec public school?

That's my question too. As I am not familiar with the CAQ. Anyone with the knowledge of this can shed some lights on this please?

CAQ is coalition avenir Quebec. You can easily google these things:) It is the party that is in charge in Quebec. Would suggest you keep up to date on what is going on in Quebec or just research Quebec in general if you are planning on moving there.

Thank you for your answer. And sorry for not being clearer earlier. In this particular context the CAQ stands for "Certificate of Acceptance from Quebec" (as opposed to CSQ "Certificate of Selection from Quebec"). It seems that from the news, it is suggested that instead of just issuing CSQ to the successful applicants (then they have to go through the federal process), the Quebec govt. should also issue CAQ. But I am not sure how CAQ works. From googling/researching, I only found that CAQ work for the Skilled Workers track and not for QIIP.

I hope and pray common sense prevails sooner than later and the Quebec govt acknowledges the apathy of QIIP applicants waiting in federal desperately after CSQ
And take some drastic steps as a responsible govt should take to end this misery of ever increasing processing times and bring some sanity in the system
Till then it’s a guessing same !
