i just saw update from Consulate General of Canada in NY FB page update : as mentioned on page

"Consulate General of Canada in New York
April 8 at 9:39am ·
Visa Section: Weekly Update 2016-04-08
The visa section is currently processing work permit applications received online on the following date:
Work Permit (online): January 9, 2016
Work Permit (VAC): January 12, 2016"

So you are coming closer .. there is high probability that last week of this month would be the time you will get your results ( if there are no holidays and they keep processing applications at same speed)

I have received the Passport Request Letter from CIC today (04/18/2016), thank you guys for your good wishes and providing information.

Applications Submitted : 26 Jan 2016
Passport Requested : 18 April 2016
Passport Submitted : 19 April 2016

Heartiest Congratulations JSK!!

I am getting my passport today. It took around 13 days for me to receive my passport.

Passport Submission : 04/07/2015
Expected receive date : 04/20/2016 ( ups tracking is showing today EOD - i gave them one day overnight return package)

I have submitted personally in VFS office and it is being processed in Bangalore Consulate now, does the processing takes 10+days in the Consulate?

I received mine and my wife's passport back today with visa stamped, however I did not receive my son's passport, status on VFS site says still processing at the consulate, anybody faced this issue before?

I think all work permit applications from USA are processed at the Consulate of New York. Processing time currently is 3 months on average. You can also follow their page on facebook, they post weekly processing updates.

Hello everyone,

My post-graduate work permit expire July 3, 2016. I plan to send all my work permit extension paper package June 29, 2016 by UPS, but I am not sure whether CIC can get it by July 3. Which date matters to CIC? Expire date (July 3) or mail date (June 29)?
