Hello everyone,

Just a quick question. The husband has been called in for an interview in January and was told to 'bring in anything you want the visa officer to consider'. Is this a good sign or bad? If they are hoping to issue the visa do they not always ask for more passport photos and an updated criminal record check??

We do not have time to order CAIPS or whatever but is there something we can bring along to help speed up the process in all areas? We already paid the fees and did the medical ages ago.

We are going to bring along more phone records, proof of a vacation we took together after the application was sent in, financial transactions, and photos as well as an updated crim check.

Any advice would help.
Regards!

An interview request is usually supposed to outline the case an applicant has to meet. Were there no indications at all regarding why he was being convoked for the interview?

If not:

1) Assume they question the genuineness of your relationship and bring along as much proof of the types you already mentioned, proving continuous contact.

2) Double check your copy of your application (hopefully you kept one). Are all your facts accurate, is there anything that was omitted or may be inaccurate? If there is anything, prepare to clear up any misapprehension that might have resulted.

3) Consider your overall relationship and situation, are there any "red flags", such as incompatible educational or religious backgrounds, large age differences, etc that need to be addressed? Get him prepared to answer questions on those subjects with specific, clear, relevant answers.

Good luck to you both!

Thank you. There was no reason given for the interview. We will review our application closely. Do they just ask questions based on your application.

We do have a religious difference but neither of us are very religious (and we have a small age difference of 5 years).

Yes, the application and supporting documents will form the basis of the questions he will be asked.
